Phyllis A. Rossiter, 83, of Byesville, OH, passed away on October 5, 2021, after a lengthy illness.
Phyllis liked to walk five miles or more everyday. She participated in Meals on Wheels and was known as the Banana Lady at the County Home. Phyllis could pack a suitcase faster than anyone and just loved to travel.
You would find her in the casino playing cards or the one armed bandits. In the summertime, if she wasn't asking you to walk around the pond with her yet again, she liked to go swimming and to work in her flowerbeds. Phyllis liked to be packed and on her way to Paradise Island for the winter before the first snow.
In the event that she was stuck here in the cold you would find her curled up with a good book reading or working on a quilt.
Phyllis always gave more to others than she ever received in return and she was an inspiration to us all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Rossiter; a son, Eric Rossiter;
two sisters, Laura Leahy and Gaynol Anderson; and her best friend, Melody Morris.
Survivors include one son, Kevin Rossiter; two grandsons Christopher and
Nicholas Rossiter; one great-grandson, James Michael Rossiter; daughter-in-law, Michelle Rossiter;
four siblings, John (Charlene) Dunlap, Alice (Jack) Sullivan, Savilla Keim, and Nettie (Brian) Griffiths; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no funeral services. Memorial contributions can be made to Countryview Living and Hospice of Guernsey County.
