Rev. Francis Edwin LaFollette

Rev. Francis Edwin LaFollette, 86, of 17629 Pipa Road Pleasant City, went to be with the Lord on Saturday (August 7, 2021).

He was born September 14, 1934 in Cambridge Ohio, the only son of Ira Edwin LaFollette and Olive Cleoria (Kackley) LaFollette.

Francis graduated from Center Local High School, Sarahsville, in 1952.  While working at Public Works with Detroit Harvester in Zanesville, the RCA/National Cash Register, and Cambridge Metropolitan Housing Authority all of Cambridge, he did further his education as a graduate from Chicago Technical College in modern supervision Scranton PA., electronic classes, and many more industry-related classes.

He was called into the ministry in the Church of God and met the pastoral requirements through Anderson School of Theology.  He was licensed and later ordained September 25, 1997.

He also served his community as trustee of Buffalo Township from 1965 to 1975.

Francis served in the military as a sergeant with the Ohio Defense Corps from December 7, 1970 to December 7, 1972 in Company “D” 22nd Battalion.

He operated Cedar Hill Farm and lived there most of his life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia (Tarleton) LaFollette; his second wife, Thelma G. (Long) LaFollette; and a son, Bob Long.

He is survived by his daughter, Ellen (LaFollette) Wartenbee of Zanesville; his sons, Ed (Sharon) LaFollette and Mark (Nikol) LaFollette both of Pleasant City route, and Larry (Litazelle) Long of Nashport; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, on Friday (August 13, 2021) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Ron Nichols officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Pleasant City.
