Richard Kenneth “Ken” Fehrman, 81, of Newark, passed away Thursday (August 5, 2021) at Altercare of Newark.
He was born May 22, 1940 in Byesville, son of the late Delbert and Zerelda (Poland) Fehrman.
Kenny retired after 32 years with the Columbia Gas Company as a Division Accounting Supervisor. He was a member of Main Ave. United Methodist Church in Byesville until he moved to Columbus where he became a member of First United Methodist Church in Newark. He was a 1958 graduate of Byesville High School and served as Airman First Class in the U.S. Air Force He enjoyed reading and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one infant daughter Carol Lynn Fehrman; one infant son Kevin Lee Fehrman; five brothers, Russell, Ralph, Bob, Roy and Raymond; two sisters, Ann Liddle and Ruth Callihan; son in law Paul Demas.
He is survived by his wife Meredith Ann (Rowe) Fehrman whom he married January 30, 1965; children, Christine Demas of Grove City, Kayla (Todd) Metcalf of New Albany, Kara (Bryan) Young of Pataskala and Richard Kenneth (Debbie) Fehrman of Newark; six grandchildren, Jennifer (David) McGuire, Jessica Metcalf, Madelyn Young, Mason Young, Emma Fehrman and Matthew Fehrman; one brother Ron (Judy) Fehrman of Byesville; one sister Esther Canaday of Jenkins, KY; brother in law John F. (Carolee) Rowe of Columbus, Ga; sister in law Sharon (Joseph) Derr of Mt. Vernon; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday (August 8, 2021) at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, 231 E. Main Ave., Byesville, Ohio 43723 where services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Debbie Gheen officiating.
