Ronald Doyle Groves, 78, of Pleasant City passed away Friday (October 25, 2013) at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born October 15, 1935 in Cambridge and was the son of the late Merritt and Esther (Corwin) Groves.
Ronald was a 1954 graduate of Sarahsville High School. He worked for Merlin Secrest; painted roofs, Vanadium Plant, and Wilmer Watson for 20 years. He drove truck for Merchants Delivery and later retired in 1997 from Bi Con after 21 years of service. He would have retired on December 31, 2013 as a Buffalo Township Trustee.
He was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Pleasant City.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Bonnie (Rich) Groves; two sons, Allen Groves and friend Michelle Cox of Newcomerstown and Mark (Sue) Groves of Pleasant City; Grandchildren, Josh and Shane (April) Groves, Sheena (Tony) Gheen, Mandi (Michael) Ash, Tonya (Luke) Neff, Kayla (Kody) McCollum and Kimberlee Keith and fiancé' Eric Gress; thirteen great grandchildren, Sklylar, Brooklyn, Xander, Brantley, Colten, Hunter, Holden, Paityn, Natalie, Hailey, Jazmine, Chasity and Ira; one brother Roger (Vicki) Groves of Pleasant City; two sisters, Rebecca (Bob) Siddle of Pleasant City and Clara (Myron) Secrest of Pleasant City; five brother-in-laws; five sister-in-laws and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chandler Funeral Home in Caldwell where services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Mike Poole officiating.

Ronald will be laid to rest in Halley's Ridge Cemetery.
