Rosella Evangeline “Rose” (Patchen) Collins Urdak, 91, of Byesville, passed away Friday (December 24, 2021) at her son Mark’s home.
She was born September 4, 1930 in Robins, daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Repasky) Patchen.
Rose was a 1948 graduate of Byesville High School, and a former employee of Westinghouse and Sycon. She was a member of Christ the Savior Orthodox Church, and Byesville VFW ladies Aux. Post #116. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing and traveling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Urdak whom she married June 20, 1970 and passed away August 21, 1984; a son John Collins; siblings, Olga Cox, Erma Hatten, Helen Murphy, Mary Baldridge, John Patchen, Mickey Patchen, Pauline Rohrich and Charlie Patchen.
She is survived by two sons, Mark Collins and Bryan Urdak both of Byesville; one daughter Kathy (Gary) Calvey of Cambridge; nine grandchildren, Tiffany, John, Brett, Robert, Chris, Ray, Bill, Camron and Shelby; nine great grandchildren; longtime friend Louise Sills of Byesville.
Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Christ the Savior Orthodox Church, Byesville. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
