Russell J. Baker Jr., 83, of Byesville, passed away Tuesday (December 6, 2022) at Altercare of Cambridge, surrounded by his family.
He was born October 5, 1939 in Sharon, son of the late Russell Baker and Nellie (Bush) Baker.
Russell was a self-employed carpenter for thirty-five years, retiring in 2008.
He was a member of the 672 Sportsmans Club and the High Hill Sportsmans Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Mae (Ritterbeck) Baker, who passed away October 31, 2022. They were married November 28, 1959. Also deceased are six sisters, Marie Fry, Jane Dovenbarger, Gladys Moore, Sarah Anderson, Virginia Wilkos, and Nancy Seevers; three brothers, Dick Baker, Raymond Baker, and Art Baker; a son, Denny Baker; and two grandchildren.
Left behind to cherish Russell’s memories are four children, Russell (Connie) Baker of Cambridge, James Baker of Byesville, Tammy (Rex) Prouty of Cambridge, and Michael (Amy) Baker of Byesville; a brother, Bob Baker of Caldwell; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday (December 11, 2022) from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will be held Monday (December 12, 2022) at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Lobos officiating.
Burial will be at Hoskinsville Cemetery.
