Ruth Evelyn (Deeks) Cain

Ruth Evelyn (Deeks) Cain, 96, of Byesville passed away Thursday (September 20, 2018) at Astoria Place in Cambridge.

She was born August 17, 1922 in Akron and was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Stiles) Deeks.

Mrs. Cain retired from NCR, and had previously worked at RCA and Montgomery Ward.  She was a life member of Free Methodist Church, where she was very active for many years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clifford E. Cain whom she married April 25, 1941 and who died April 24, 1990; two brothers, Clyde and James; and one sister Arlene; son–in-law David Shooter.

She is survived by two sons, David (Mary Ann) Cain of Columbus and Gregory (Laurie) Cain of Raleigh, NC; one daughter Alice Shooter of Fishers, IN; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; one sister-in-law Jane Deeks of Cuyahoga Falls.

Calling hours for Ruth will be Saturday from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will follow at 1:30. Burial to follow at Guernsey Memory Gardens.
