Samuel Thomas Williams, 68, of Byesville, passed away Tuesday (April 6, 2021) at SEORMC.
He was born October 28, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio son of the late Thomas D. and Ellen E. (Gregg) Williams.
Sam retired from the Mahle Corporation after 34 years of service. He was a 1971 graduate of Meadowbrook High School, a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #654 Scottish Rite 32nd degree. Sam was an avid Steelers and Ohio State fan, and enjoyed attending his grandson’s sporting events. He took great pride in the upkeep of his home, yard, and garage.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jorden Williams; in-laws, Bill and Jean (Archer) Oliver.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dixie (Oliver) Williams whom he married June 8, 1974; one son, Sam (Stephanie) Williams of Cambridge; one sister, Sue Ellen (Bill) Gibson of Cambridge; four grandchildren, Hunter, Noah, Elizabeth and Paige; a great friend Paul Wineman.
Private graveside services will be held for the family, Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Military services will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
