Sandra K. (Tilton) Slay, 71, of Massillon, formerly of Byesville, passed away Wednesday (March 31, 2021) at Aultman Compassionate Care Center, Canton.
She was born October 19, 1949 in Ava the daughter of Austin and Lenamae (Spurrier) Tilton.
Sandy retired from the City of Cambridge after several years of service. She was formerly employed at NCR and Orme Hardware. As a member of Stop 9 Church of Christ she enjoyed helping with and attending Golden Sixties. After moving to Massillon she attended First Christian Church. Sandy enjoyed puzzle books and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clem Slay whom she married December 2, 1967 and passed away June 16, 2011; six siblings, Charlotte, Larry, Judy, Barbara, Connie and Jack.
She is survived by one son Mike (Anna) Slay of Byesville; one daughter Kim (Todd) Stone of Massillon; two brothers, Bill Tilton of Cambridge and Rick Tilton of FL.; three sisters, Alberta McCollough, Shirley Tilton and Joyce Frame all of Cambridge.; grandchildren, Taryn (Chase) Waggle, Tressa (Lucas) Hastings, Matt and Adam Slay; three great grandchildren, Cash and Teigan Waggle, Lennox Hastings; special niece Heather Aguilar and her two daughters, Ariah and Alexa.
Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Stop 9 Church of Christ with services to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Evangelist Woody Biggs officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
