Obituary

Susan Victoria “Vickie” (Hickman) Lighty, 67, of Lore City, passed away Tuesday (March 30, 2021) at the Morrison House, Zanesville.

She was born March 7, 1954 in Lancaster, Ohio daughter of the late Shirley W. and Dorothy M. (Murphy) Hickman.

Vickie retired from SEAT as a dispatcher after 10 years of service.  She attended New Concord Church of Christ and was a 1972 graduate of Shenandoah High School.  She was a member of Eagles Ladies Aux. #386 where she served as Past Madam President.  She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lighty whom she married September 23, 1972 and passed away February 8, 2021; grandson Clinton Lee Baker; In-laws Fredrick and Violet Lighty.

She is survived by one son Paul (Renee) Lighty of Lore City; two daughters, Rachel (Doug) Baker of Cumberland and Melissa Lighty of Lore City; two brothers, Leroy (Sharon) Hickman of Senecaville and Ron (Cindy) Hickman of Cambridge; one sister Donna Moore of Senecaville; five grandchildren, Tiera Baker, Avery (Lydia) Baker, Damion Starcher, Austin Lighty and Alexzander Starcher; four great grandchildren, Oliver and Tallie Baker, Gracelynn and Karson Lighty; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Bonnie Kerns and Bea McElroy.

Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will be at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Terry Townsend officiating.  Burial will follow in Antrim Presbyterian Cemetery.
