Thelma Marie (Lisak) Gress, 78, of Pleasant City passed away Tuesday (January 4, 2022) at Astoria Place, Cambridge.
She was born May 20, 1943 in Pleasant City, daughter of the late George and Anna (Slifko) Lisak.
Thelma retired from Guernsey Memory Gardens after 17 years as Office Manager. She loved spending time with her family and grandkids, collecting ceramic bells, playing cards, playing the lottery, bingo, puzzles, going to Wheeling Casino and going on vacations to the beach. She also enjoyed watching college football; her favorite team was the Nebraska Cornhuskers. She was a member of St. Michaels Byzantine Catholic Church, and a 1961 graduate of Pleasant City High School.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Fred Gress whom she married March 19, 2002 and passed away November 5, 2016; great grandson Colton; sister Sarah Jean Robinson; brother in law Emil Kovalchik.
She is survived by three sons, Kevin (Tammi) King of OH, Gregory (Tammy) King of FL and Kyle (Jennifer) King of GA; a daughter Kelly (Charles) Mallett of Byesville; a sister Martha Kovalchik of Pleasant City; 8 grandchildren, Cara, MJ, Zachary, Shayla, Erikka, Anna, Nicholas, Kyle; 4 great grandchildren, McKinley, Eli, Emma and Hudson; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday (January 10th) from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Larry Jellison officiating. Burial to follow in Guernsey Memory Gardens.
