Thomas Sills Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas L. “Tom” Sills, 70, of Byesville who passed away on Monday (September 27, 2021) at Astoria Place of Cambridge with his family by his side.

Tom was born September 17, 1951 in Guernsey County to the late Thomas F. and Gloria (Secrest) Sills.

Tom grew up in Byesville where he attended school. He was a dedicated employee of Fabri-Form in Byesville where he retired after 30 years of service. Tom had a love for spending time with family and friends.  You could always find him porch sitting, playing cards or attending a grandchild’s sporting/dance event.  He was a member of Eagles #386 and Byesville VFW #3760.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant sister, a brother James Sills and a daughter in law Maureen (Froment) Sills.

He is survived by his loving wife Louise (Smith) Sills; two brothers, John Sills and Jerry (Jean) Sills both of Byesville; one sister Ginger (Vance) Heater of PA; three sons, Scott (Chris) Sills of Sarahsville, Tom (Michelle) Sills Jr. and Brian Sills both of Byesville; four grandchildren, Ryan (Morgan) Sills of Belle Valley, Amber (Brendon) Hyland of Byesville, Devin Sills of Sarahsville and Erica Sills of St. Clairsville; two step-grandchildren, Nick Hudson and Nichole Laird; five great grandchildren, Hadley, Ripken, Harper, River and Quinton; three step great grandchildren, Laklyne, Logan and Liam; one step great great granddaughter Sophia; brother in law Rick (Sue) Smith of Cambridge and sister in law Sally Sills of Powhatan Point; many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Astoria Place of Cambridge, Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center and Hospice of Guernsey.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will be 11:00 am Friday with Pastor Nancy Parsons officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
