Vivian Moore Obituary

Vivian “Joyce” Moore, 78, of Byesville, passed away Thursday (November 12, 2020) at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

She was born March 6, 1942 in Lee, FL and was the daughter of the late Amon and Edna (Knighton) Tuten.

Joyce was a long-time cosmetologist, starting her career in her home, the Country Curl Beauty Salon. She grew her business, and purchased tanning beds, moving the business to The Hair and Tanning Center.  Joyce would later start her flower shop, All Season Florist in Byesville, where she would continue to expand, by adding Crows Video Nest, and later opening Ritzy Repeats. Over the last 18 years she has been a partner with her daughter, Cindy, in the Great Clips of Zanesville Franchise.

She was a very giving person to her children, as well as everyone she knew. She would help anyone in need, even if she didn’t know them. She stayed active throughout her life, and loved being busy doing things. She would travel to Florida every chance she had to visit her family, whom she dearly loved. Her favorite thing was sewing and quilt making with her sister-in-law, Micki. She enjoyed square dancing with her dance partner, Jim. They went to just about every square dance the Zanesville Senior Center held. She was a past member of the Cambridge Eagles#386 Ladies Auxiliary. Reading and watching mystery shows is how she passed her time.

To know her, was to love her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Howard Tuten .

She is survived by two sons, Bill (Jen) Moore of Byesville and Tim (Michelle Miller) Moore of  New Albany; one daughter Cindy (John) Voorhies of Pleasant City; former husband and father of her children, Bill Moore of Byesville; four grandchildren, Tommy Metcalf, Toni Chiesa, Damon Moore and Elijah Moore; one great grandchild Drake Voorhies; extended family (grandchildren) Jason (Lara)Voorhies, Aaron (Ashley) Voorhies, Joshua Voorhies, Bethany Voorhies and Addie Pointer; great grandchildren, Eve, Grace, Rylea, Emma, Austin, Allie, Elijah and Johnny; special friend Jim Tilley of Zanesville; and former daughter-in-law Dawn Moore.

Graveside services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday at Greenwood Cemetery with Evang. Woody Biggs officiating.
