William Sapp Obituary

William “Bill” Sapp, 90, of Kings Mine, passed away Wednesday (February 23, 2022) at the home of his daughter.

He was born October 27, 1931 in Cambridge, son of the late Wayne L. and Virginia (Cropper) Sapp.

Bill was a smart, strong, resourceful man that took much pride in taking care of the things he loved most; his family, home, vehicles and lawn. He was mechanically inclined and could fix almost anything he came across. He built his home himself and often referred to it as his humble abode.

Retiring young, he enjoyed spending time at home with his family. He could often be found in the living room watching the news in his easy chair wearing his signature white cotton tee shirt and dark blue jeans.

He also bought an RV which he and his wife traveled across the U.S. in. Each year Bill and his wife would take their kids and grandchildren to beach vacations in Florida, stopping at KOA campgrounds along the way, which was the highlight of the summer.

Bill had many close friends and enjoyed having a few beers in the garages of his buddies, Swank, Gary, Rick St. Clair and many others. He also had a great love for music, particularly oldies and Patsy Kline. He was a member and past Post Commander of Kipling VFW # 7371.

Bill is now at peace and has been reunited with wife Marlene and many other family members.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Marlene (English) Sapp whom he married September 20, 1955 and passed away June 6, 2012; a daughter Vicki Lynn Christie; a son Richard “Duke” Sapp; one granddaughter Vanessa L. LaRocca; one grandson John Christie.

He is survived by two daughters Belinda Cramblett  and Cindi Quarles, both of Cambridge; grandchildren, Tiffany Christie, James Goshen, Brianna (Aaron) Jackson, Destini (Tanner) Waggoner, Devon Sapp, and Shelly Tudor; six great grandchildren.

No visitation or services will be observed.

Family asks that memorial donations be made to Kipling VFW # 7371, 61771 Primrose Lane, Kipling, Ohio 43750.
